Japanese consumers have a wealth of information regarding beauty and therefore have stringent criteria for evaluating trends in the beauty business. In recent years, the hot topics of the Japanese beauty market are the market growth of “Beauty from inside and outside” and “home care beauty”.
1. “Beauty from inside and outside” is an effective approach to beauty using both cosmetics and supplements. Its market has grown up to $1billion, double the 2007 figure for four consecutive years.
2. With the growing popularity of home care beauty, the “Mobile Beauty” market, which is the market for beauty-related instruments such as portable facial equipment and beauty rollers, was established. It is now a $600 million market.
