Shannon is the Lead R&D Formulation Chemist at Greenleaf Cosmetics South Africa, an exclusive contract manufacturer for Woolworths’ private-label beauty range. With over five years of experience in skincare, body care, and hair care development, she leads projects from product ideation through to packaging and product education, with a strong focus on sustainability and customer experience.

Her passion lies in product innovation, particularly in nanotechnology delivery systems and the use of African indigenous plants with unique bioactive properties that offer remarkable benefits when incorporated into high-performance formulations. She finds the greatest reward in creating results-driven products that help women look and feel their best.

Previously, Shannon worked at SKOON. Skincare, a natural, science-led brand, where she championed the launch of the award-winning Nanopillow Serum range—a waterless delivery system developed with electrospinning nanotechnology to enhance the targeted absorption of active ingredients. The SKOON. B3 Barrier Boost Nanopower Duo, part of this range, won “Most Innovative Formula” for the Women & Home Holy Grail Beauty Awards in 2023.
She holds a BSc in Chemistry and Biochemistry, along with a Postgraduate Honours degree in Formulation Science from Nelson Mandela University.
