Shirley Billot, is the founder of Kadalys, a biotech company that creates upcycled & patented active ingredients and products from all banana tree agro-waste sustainably for beauty and health. The company is specialised in active cosmetic, nutraceutical and functionnal food.

Importantly, her efforts have created a more sustainable economy and greater biodiversity for the French West Indies. Her company exemplifies the circular economy principle of recycling of what would normally be deemed as agri-waste into a totally new product. Her strong commitment to her French West Indian heritage, the wider community, and the environment has led her to be recognized at the highest level. In 2017, she was honored by the President of the French Republic with the Legion d’Honneur (Chevalier), France’s highest civilian honor. She has also won the Innovation French overseas prize in 2018, representing France at the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Alliance in 2019 and in 2022 she is nominated as French ambassador of commerce.
