Living Ornament | Body Painting Live Demo
Body painting is a living art. It exists only in the room, on the person, and in that moment.
Karen Yiu brings more than twenty years in professional makeup and body painting to a live oriental-style demo. The body becomes ornament: pattern and figure read as one piece, closer to a ceremonial object than to makeup applied and left behind. The detail is made to be seen in person, where light, distance, and presence change the work. The demo is the work itself.
Porcelain is usually fired, fixed, and kept. This version cannot be. It lasts only while the model stands in it. Once the paint comes off, the object is gone.
